The Millecoquins Lake Watershed Management Plan insures necessary long-range environmental planning, implementation, monitoring, and necessary maintenance of action plans aimed at improvement of the shared watershed which directly impacts the welfare of wildlife for local residents. It promotes improvement of the natural resources within the watershed to directly/indirectly improve habitat for fish and wildlife for the short and long-range benefit of the watershed and the local communities. |

The HSC Foundation, Inc. was recently granted $500 by the Cloverland Electric Cooperative Commitment to Community Program to construct a handicap and youth accessible boardwalk and dock to allow families to safely enjoy fishing together at Jocko Pond at the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club. This generous grant will be combined with donations in the memory of Tom Poole, a long time club member, who enjoyed fishing for 72 years. We will be starting this project soon once the design is finished.
The HSC Foundation, Inc. and Garfield Township were recently awarded $500 from the Cloverland Electric Cooperative Commitment to Community Program. The funds will help towards the purchase of a fire ring and two charcoal grills at the Naubinway Marina in Garfield Township. This marina was very recently dredged and additional break walls were erected to facilitate better access for boaters. This is an extremely popular area for family picnics and gatherings and the traveling public. It is easily accessible from US-2 allowing travelers a break in a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Michigan and the community of Naubinway. |
